Occupy

2024

Steel, paint, photo

Occupy is a series of images that live between lens-based sculpture and performance. The physical piece itself, seen in each photo, is tall, receiving, unavoidable, shapeshifting, censoring, and somehow friendly while loomingly present. The angular and circular form serves as a reference point for whichever space It occupies or whichever space occupies It, becoming an entity once activated by life and space. Framing the spatial negatives and positives of the sculpture’s environment, Occupy becomes a tool to reframe itself and the space it inhabits.
